Urban Dwellers Face a Battle for Land Ownership Registration
People applying for land titles in urban areas are at a huge disadvantage compared to their rural counterparts due to the higher percentage of property disputes with powerful officials and businesspeople in the country’s cities, a new report on land registration has found. … To improve the situation, the report says the government should respect legal possession rights, as stated under the 2001 Land Law, rather than granting newly approved projects on such land.
